Group Practice Owner & Director
Tara Sottile, LCSW-R, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Tara received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Masters Degree in Social Work at Stony Brook University.
Tara’s work experience has been in various settings including psychiatric hospital programs, private schools, outpatient clinics, and residential treatment facilities. Her therapy approach is to utilize different types of interventions such as CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), play therapy, and supportive counseling to help overcome difficult obstacles and manage mental health symptoms. Tara has experience working with symptoms of depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm, trauma, behavioral issues, abuse/neglect, and loss. She specializes in family counseling and utilizes a FFT (Functional Family Therapy) approach which entails improving communication and family dynamics. She believes parenting support, advocacy, and counseling helps strengthen families to maintain their well being.
In addition to providing therapy, Tara supervises the clinical team at Pathway Counseling. Pathway Counseling operates in a team approach to provide clients the best practice care for their mental health needs.
